Meet McKenna Aiello
She is a journalism student at the University of Southern California and is expected to graduate in 2016.
Aiello was admitted to USC as a spring admit.
She is studying journalism and has had a handful of writing experiences at different publications and outlets.
She is currently an editorial intern at The Hollywood Reporter (circa September 2014), writes for USCÕs Neon Tommy (circa October 2013), and has worked as a senior producer for the CU at USC, which is a show on Trojan Vision that regularly interview celebrities.
In addition, this Trojan was also a blogger for Patch.com covering Carlsbad, Calif. and worked at BJÕs Restaurants.
In many of her journalistic endeavors she has made a great use of multimedia tools such as videos, photos and Storify to enhance her stories.
Honorable mention definitely goes to her coverage of the Carlsbad Fire near San Diego in May.
Over the summer 2014, Aiello wrote for the San Diego UpTown News, a biweekly neighborhood publication.
Seems like she didnÕt have to travel too far from home for this writing experience. Aiello calls both San Diego and Los Angeles home.
ItÕs not all work and no play for Aiello. Based on her social media accounts she has an active social life.
Though I could only see her Facebook profile picture and cover photo because of privacy setting, it seems like she goes to USC football games, has a lot of school spirit by the way she dons the cardinal and gold and participates in her sorority, Delta Delta Delta or ÒTriDelt.Ó
She is the TriDelt house corporation representative. Did I mention that she has found a way to tie in her Greek affiliation with her passion for journalism?
Aiello is a contributor to the Odyssey, which is an online newspaper that uses hyperlocal coverage from college students around the nation to aggregate interesting stories for the web.
Based off of the photos of her that show up in Google Images, she is a performer Ñ she likes dancing and has been on many stages.
Which makes sense: she did boast on her Twitter that she is an Òoccasional breakdancer.Ó
